Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has taken to his official X handle to react after reports that Anambra State governor, Charles Soludo was building a secret second airport surfaced online.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Friday July 3rd, 2026 he pointed out that the secrecy surrounding the project demands urgent clarifications.
Governor Charles Soludo, it can be recalled, had been on the spotlight for the wrong reasons after reports that a secret airport was being constructed in Anambra State went viral across various social media platforms.
Questions bordering funding, trust and transparency were raised to which the state government remained silent. However, after series of probing, it was discovered that such projects exist.
Chidi Odinkalu, widely admired for his candid opinions, pointed out that despite the determined efforts by the Anambra State government to bully fact finders, the truth was effortlessly established.
He commended a political analyst identified as Kingsley Ubani for keeping the Anambra State government and governor Soludo honest regardless of the dangers associated with exposing a project he believed was not beneficial to Ndi Anambra.
“After prolonged and repeated official denial, it now turns out that Anambra State is building a secret 2nd airport. Despite the determined efforts of the govt to bully him, Kingsley is keeping them honest.” He wrote.
