Ali Nuhu, celebrated actor and government official, opened up about his upbringing by a single mother. He shared his family history during his appearance on “With Chude.”
Nuhu reveals his parents divorced when he was five years old. He did not see his father again until after secondary school. He credits his mother, a former headmistress who became an assistant catering manager at Nigerian Airways, for raising him without resentment toward his absent father.
Nuhu said: “I was raised by a single mom. They were divorced when I was around five, I guess. Not really about religion. I think it’s just a mutual thing between them and they felt it’s not going to work, and they separated. Right from when I was five years old, I never saw my dad until I graduated from secondary school. That’s when we reconciled. It was my mom that took me to him for holidays. He felt she could take care of the responsibilities, and he left me with her. She had no resentment towards him. She was a primary school teacher and became the headmistress of the school. That’s a school called Yerwa Central Primary School. In fact, her name is still on the list of headmasters of the school. After that, she now got a job at the defunct Nigerian Airways. And she rose to become the assistant catering manager.”…..See More
