Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israel has carried out new strikes targeting Hezbollah positions in the southern suburbs of Beirut. He said the decision was made in response to what he described as repeated ceasefire violations and ongoing attacks on Israeli cities attributed to the group.
Netanyahu stated that Israel views the situation as a serious escalation that requires continued military action to protect its national security interests. He added that the operations are aimed at weakening Hezbollah’s infrastructure and preventing further attacks across the northern border.
In a video shared by DRM News, Netanyahu confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue operations against Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon as tensions in the region continue to rise. He explained that Israel’s military strategy is focused on maintaining pressure on the group while responding to continued threats and cross-border incidents.
According to Netanyahu, the IDF remains fully prepared to sustain its operations for as long as necessary, depending on developments on the ground. The comments come amid growing instability and repeated exchanges of fire between both sides in recent days.
