Lebanon’s PM: We Must Seize This Moment -Salam Pushes For National Recovery

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam according to a report by Al Jazeera on April 24, 2026, has conveyed measured optimism regarding the country’s prospects for overcoming its prolonged political and economic turmoil, suggesting that a path toward stability remains within reach despite the formidable challenges the nation continues to face.

In an interview with Kuwaiti publication Al-Anba, Salam underlined the importance of capitalizing on the present window of opportunity to confront Lebanon’s mounting challenges. Salam emphasized that his government is channeling every available source of internal resilience and external backing with Arab nations playing a central role toward lifting Lebanon out of its current predicament, bringing an end to Israeli occupation of Lebanese territory, and restoring peace and economic wellbeing across the country.

These remarks come against the backdrop of Lebanon’s continued struggle with severe fiscal distress, institutional fragmentation, and security vulnerabilities. The government has been pressing forward with efforts to reestablish functional governance, draw in foreign aid, and rebuild public trust amid widespread frustration among citizens.
