Donald Trump Says ‘Mandatory’ For Muslim Nations Involved In Iran Deal To Join Abraham Accords

According to a report by the Times of Israel, on Monday May 25, 2026, US President Donald Trump has dramatically raised the stakes in ongoing West Asia peace negotiations, calling on a bloc of key Muslim-majority nations to formally normalize relations with Israel by joining the Abraham Accords as a prerequisite for any final settlement with Iran.

The president made the declaration on Monday via his social media platform, Truth Social, indicating that while active diplomatic channels with Tehran are currently proceeding nicely, regional stabilization will require a far broader geopolitical realignment.

President Trump explicitly named Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan as the nations he wants integrated into the expanded normalization framework.

He also confirmed discussing the initiative during a weekend conference call with the leaders of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, two of the original signatories of the US-brokered 2020 accords.

Framing the expansion as non-negotiable for regional stakeholders, Trump wrote:

“After all the work done by the United States to try and pull this very complex puzzle together, it should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords.”

The US president warned that a refusal to join the historic pact would be viewed by Washington as an indicator of obstructionism.

“It should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit,” Trump posted. “If they don’t, they should not be part of this Deal in that it shows bad intention.”

In a surprising twist, Trump also suggested that the diplomatic roadmap could eventually extend to Tehran itself if a permanent peace treaty is successfully finalized.

“If Iran signs its Agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition,” Trump added. “Wow, now that would be something special.”

The president’s sweeping mandate has raised immediate questions among foreign policy analysts, primarily because two of the nations listed Egypt and Jordan already maintain longstanding, independent peace treaties with Israel dating back to 1979 and 1994, respectively.

Furthermore, Turkey has officially recognized the state of Israel since 1949, though relations have severely frayed in recent years.

Beyond these diplomatic redundancies, the administration faces immense structural obstacles from the remaining non-signatories.

Both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have repeatedly and firmly stated that they will not grant formal diplomatic recognition to Israel without the irreversible establishment of an independent Palestinian state a geopolitical concession that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government remains avowedly opposed to……See More
