Trump To Iranian Leaders: I Would Greatly Appreciate Release Of These Women Ahead Of Talks

In a move aimed at establishing goodwill before potential diplomatic talks, U.S. President Donald Trump has called on the Iranian leadership to release eight women reportedly facing execution.

The President’s appeal, posted on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, via the White House’s official X account and his Truth Social platform, follows widespread reports that the Islamic Republic is moving toward carrying out these death sentences.

President Trump framed the requested release as a foundational step for the upcoming discussions between the U.S. and Iranian representatives.

“To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!!” the President stated.

The call for clemency comes during a period of intense volatility, as a two-week ceasefire between Washington and Tehran nears its expiration.

While both nations have signaled a willingness to resume dialogue in Islamabad, the path to a lasting agreement remains uncertain, with both sides trading accusations of ceasefire violations.

As of April 21, Iranian state media and judicial outlets have contested the reports surrounding the women, characterizing them as unfounded fake news and claiming that no final verdicts involving the death penalty have been issued for the individuals mentioned.

Despite the diplomatic pressure, Tehran has not yet provided a definitive response regarding the President’s specific request for their release…..See More
