Babachir Lawal has stated that he still had a close relationship with Muhammadu Buhari even after he was removed from office as Secretary to the Government of the Federation
In a video shared by Channels Television, Lawal said when he was sacked as SGF he returned his Official Villa access pass. He said whenever Buhari invited him to the Villa, he had to get visitor’s tag at the gate of the Villa and wear it to see Buhari.
Lawal said Buhari hated seeing him wear visitor’s tag. He said one day Buhari angrily instructed security officials at the Villa to restore his access pass
In Lawal’s words: “I remember when I was removed as SGF, I still had access to the Villa, I go to the Villa. And I handed over my pass which allowed me access everywhere. So now when Buhari phones me and says, ‘Come let us gist, let us gossip’ I will say, ‘I am coming sir’. When I go to the gate they will give me that piece of paper (tag).
