When We Were Trying To Have Our Son, We Did Many IVFs And She Would Inject Herself With Meds-Banky W

Nigerian singer, actor, and pastor Banky W has opened up about the emotional and physical struggles he and wife Adesua Etomi-Wellington faced on their journey to becoming parents.

Speaking during an emotional session at the LOVE SPARKS Couples Retreat hosted by Teju Babyface, Banky W reflected on the difficult road they travelled before welcoming their son, Hezekiah.

According to him, the journey to parenthood was far from easy, as the couple went through multiple rounds of IVF treatments while hoping for a successful pregnancy.

Banky W said the process came with repeated disappointment, emotional strain, and moments that tested their faith and resilience.

Recalling Adesua’s determination, he said, “When we were trying to have our son, we did many IVFs and she would inject herself with medications.”

He explained that after each unsuccessful cycle, Adesua still found the strength to stand up again and continue the process despite the physical discomfort and emotional pain.

The singer praised his wife’s courage, saying watching her endure those moments gave him a deeper understanding of sacrifice, strength, and love.

According to him, seeing her continue despite setbacks changed how he viewed perseverance and commitment in marriage. Banky W also noted that the experience brought them closer together as a couple, teaching them patience and reliance on faith during uncertain seasons.

The couple eventually welcomed their son, a moment many fans celebrated after hearing pieces of their testimony over time.

He added that struggles such as fertility challenges are often private battles many families go through silently, which is why he appreciates his wife’s openness and bravery.
