The Consequences For An Israeli Attacking A Palestinian Should Be The Same -Mike Huckabee

According to a report by The Times Of Israel on May 12, 2026, US Ambassador Mike Huckabee said he was uncertain about who would ultimately disarm Hamas in Gaza, though he insisted that such a move would eventually take place. Speaking at the Tel Aviv Conference, Huckabee stated, “It’s a matter of when, and who will do it,” while acknowledging, “Who’s going to do the actual disarming? I don’t know.”

He explained that the International Stabilization Force would not be tasked with removing Hamas’s weapons. According to Huckabee, the force would mainly focus on monitoring border activity rather than carrying out military operations inside Gaza. “That is not so much a military force as it is a monitoring-the-border force,” he said. Huckabee added that Israel’s military could ultimately become the only force prepared to handle the mission. “Who is actually going to do the disarming? I don’t know. It could end up that the only entity willing to do it is the IDF.”

During his remarks, Huckabee also confirmed earlier comments made by US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz regarding Israeli military assistance to the United Arab Emirates during the conflict with Iran. He said Israel had deployed an Iron Dome battery along with personnel to help protect the UAE.

“I’d like to say a word of appreciation for United Arab Emirates, the first Abraham accord member,” Huckabee said. “Just look at the benefits. Israel just sent them Iron Dome batteries and personnel to help operate them.”
