I Met Some Soldiers Who Have Been Fighting In This War For Five Hundred Straight Days -Traiman

According to a video posted on JNS TV, on Monday July 6, 2026, JNS CEO Alex Traiman revealed the extraordinary length of service some Israeli soldiers have endured since the war began, describing meeting reservists who have been in combat for hundreds of days without a long-term break.

The remarks came during a discussion about why Israel has not annexed Christian and Druze villages in Lebanon and Syria despite requests from local minority leaders.

Traiman explained that while Israel has been approached by Christian communities in southern Lebanon and Druze and Christian groups in Syria asking to be placed under Israeli protection, Israel has resisted these requests.

He said one major reason is the strain already placed on Israeli troops, many of whom have served far longer than expected when the war started.

In his words, Alex Traiman said, “Israel is facing troop shortages, right? We’ve had our troops been fighting, some of them, you know, I’ve met people in the last weeks that have been fighting for 300 days, 400 days.

“I met somebody who was 500 days already in combat. So there’s big logistical challenges.”

Traiman said this shortage, combined with the difficulty of absorbing populated Muslim areas that sit alongside minority communities, explains why Israel has turned down offers of annexation despite clear appeals from Christians and Druze who say they trust Israel to protect their freedom of worship more than their own governments.
