I’ll Let You Know” When Iran Is Considered To Have Violated The Ceasefire: Trump

According to a report by The Times of Israel, US President Donald Trump has said he will personally determine and announce if Iran violates the ceasefire, declining to specify what actions would trigger such a determination.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump avoided setting out clear conditions for what would constitute a breach of the ceasefire agreement, instead indicating that any decision would be communicated directly by him.

“You’ll find out because I’ll let you know when they do,” Trump said when asked what Iran would have to do to be considered in violation of the ceasefire. “They know what not to do.”

He added that Iran should act carefully in the current situation, stressing that escalation would not be in its interest. “They should do the smart thing because we don’t want to go in and kill people,” he said.

The comments come amid ongoing tensions linked to reported attacks involving Iran and regional developments over the past days. Despite these incidents, the United States has not formally accused Iran of breaching the ceasefire arrangement.

According to the administration’s position as reflected in Trump’s remarks, no official conclusion has been made regarding whether Iran’s actions amount to a violation, even as concerns continue over repeated strikes reported in the region.

Trump’s statement also underscored that decisions on compliance with the ceasefire would not be publicly defined in advance, with the president indicating that any judgment would be made and announced directly by him.

The White House has so far maintained a cautious stance, stopping short of issuing a formal accusation against Tehran in relation to the ceasefire. This comes despite reports of repeated targeting in the region over the past two days.
