Iran Demands International Prosecution Of US-Israeli War Crimes, Citing School Bombing

A senior Iranian judiciary official has called on the international community to take legal action against the United States and Israel for war crimes and environmental genocide committed during the recent 40-day war.

According to a report made by the Iran News Agency on Sunday, 19 April, 2026, Nasser Seraj, the Deputy Chief of Iran’s Judiciary and secretary of the Human Rights Headquarters, singled out the February 28 attack on a girls’ school in the southern city of Minab as an undeniable war crime and a gross violation of fundamental human rights, arguing that the UN Security Council must formally condemn the Minab massacre and pursue the matter through legal and judicial channels.

The Iranian official went further to cataloged what he called widespread attacks on medical infrastructure, describing strikes on hospitals as not merely war crimes but the breaking of a fundamental taboo.

He also said “The international community established these protections to safeguard the most vulnerable moments of human life,” listing Gandhi Hospital, Khatam al-Anbia Hospital, medical centers in Bandar Abbas, Zahedan, Ahvaz, and notably the Pasteur Institute as examples of the deliberate and systematic destruction of Iran’s vital infrastructure.
