Report: Iran Still Able To Access Around 70% Of Its Pre-War Missile Stocks, 60% Of Launchers

According to a report by the Times of Israel on Sunday 19 April, 2026, even though tensions have been high and strikes have continued for weeks, a new US intelligence assessment indicates that Iran has retained a substantial amount of its military gear.

The New York Times reports that American sources think Iran still retains around 70% of its ballistic missile stockpile from before the war. More than half of its missile launchers are reportedly still in service as well. According to the same analysis, Iran has managed to keep about 40% of its drone inventory.

The rapidity with which those figures have changed is remarkable. Estimates indicate that Iran’s available launchers were approximately half of their original capability when the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran started on April 8. But since then, officials claim the government has recovered more equipment, bringing the total closer to 60% after allegedly unearthing 100 buried rockets.

And it appears to go on from there. According to the source, crews from Iran are still trying to recover missiles that have become stuck in the rubble of US and Israeli strikes. According to US intelligence, if the current trend continues, the country’s missile stockpile might be restored to approximately 70% of its pre-conflict levels.

Although there is no doubt that harm has been done, looking at the bigger picture shows that Iran’s capabilities are far from exhausted…….See More
