Turkey’s Çelik: “Netanyahu Targeting Erdoğan Is An Honour Amid “Alliance Of Humanity” Claim

According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Sunday, April 12, 2026, AK Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik has responded strongly to remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that were directed at Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, escalating political rhetoric between Ankara and Tel Aviv.

In his statement, Çelik said Netanyahu’s repeated references to President Erdoğan should be viewed differently, describing them as a reflection of political alignment rather than criticism.

He stated: “Netanyahu’s constant targeting of President Erdoğan is honour for our President,” framing the remarks as recognition of Turkey’s political stance in the region.

Çelik also drew a sharp distinction between the two sides in the broader geopolitical context, saying one represents what he described as “an alliance of humanity,” while the other is “a network of massacres led by Israel.”

He further accused Netanyahu of attempting to provoke ethnic and regional tensions, claiming that such statements are designed to influence Kurdish communities in the Middle East. According to Çelik, these remarks are intended to deepen divisions and destabilize regional relations.

The exchange comes amid already heightened tensions between Turkey and Israel over regional conflicts and foreign policy disagreements. Both governments have increasingly traded public accusations in recent months, particularly regarding developments in the Middle East.

Turkish officials have consistently defended President Erdoğan’s regional diplomacy, while criticizing Israeli leadership over its military actions and political statements.

No official response has been issued by the Israeli government regarding Çelik’s latest comments at the time of reporting. The situation continues to reflect growing diplomatic friction between the two countries as regional dynamics remain highly sensitive…..See More
