The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has alleged that 6 civilians were killed with stray bullets following the massacre of some members of the Nigerian army in Aba on Thursday.
He highlighted that addressing the prevailing insecurity issue in the South East is a paramount concern that cannot be ignored. He further expressed his dismay at the order of the proscribed IPOB group who suggested that students in the South East should forgo taking their WAEC exam on Thursday. He stated that such orders highlight a troubling misunderstanding of the governance of WAEC, which is not solely under Nigerian control.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”We are definitely going to make sure we solve this insecurity problem because we can’t leave the situation like this. 6 civilians were killed with stray bullets, not only the soldiers were killed. It’s a very serious matter and it’s not a thing that we should joke about. Human lives are being lost here.
