The Arewa Economic Forum (AEF) raised serious concerns about food security in Northern Nigeria due to ongoing terrorism, banditry, and related crimes. According to Chairman Ibrahim Shehu, “In the past five years, over 60% of arable land in our region has gone uncultivated because farmers fear for their safety.” He emphasized the urgent need for better security to protect farmers and prevent food shortages that could lead to more crises, according to ThisDay.
