Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actress Radeke Ajirotutu popularly known as Mama Radeke, has opened up about being both a Christian and an herbalist at the same time.
Speaking in an interview on Agbaletu TV, the actress explained that she does not go against any religion even though she follows Christ.
She is an herbalist who cures people of different sicknesses.
Despite her line of work, she said she has not gone astray from the way of Christ. She sees no conflict between her faith and her practice.
Ajirotutu explained that God Himself said everything He created was good.
That includes the plants and herbs growing on the earth. She believes these natural things are gifts from God meant to heal people.
Whenever she cuts herbs to prepare medicine for the sick, she does not rely on the herbs alone.
She calls God’s Name into the herbs for help. According to her, without God’s authority, the herbs will not work.
For the actress, healing comes from God first. The herbs are just the tool. She is simply using what God has already declared good.
This belief allows her to pray as a Christian and work as an herbalist without feeling torn between two worlds.
Her words: “Although I am a Christian, I do not go against any religion. I am also an herbalist. I cure people of sicknesses. Despite my line of work, I have not gone astray from the way of Christ.
