Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, conveyed a message to believers: they will inevitably encounter tough times in their Christian journey in a sermon titled “Living by the Royal Law in the Lord” delivered during a recent Bible Study program.
Pastor Kumuyi emphasized that trials and difficulties are an inherent part of the Christian experience, drawing parallels to the life of Jesus Christ. “Tough times will come to everyone, as they came to the Lord. He had no sin, yet He endured suffering and temptations,” he stated.
“After we are saved as children of God, we are not going to heaven on a bed of roses. Tough times, trials, and difficulties might come. But as the Lord was inflexible and unwavering in His difficult times, He wants us to be the same.”
He further explained that persecution is an inevitable aspect of following Christ. “If you have not gone through difficulties in your Christian life, you will still go through it,” he warned.
Using the example of Jesus, who faced opposition despite His good works, Pastor Kumuyi highlighted the experience of a man healed by Jesus who was cast out of the synagogue for defending Him. “Even that young man, a new convert, had his share of opposition and persecution.”
Pastor Kumuyi encouraged believers to remain steadfast in their faith, asserting that enduring hardships is a testament to genuine salvation. “You will meet tough people and go through hard times. An evidence that you are saved and born again is that you will stand firm and steadfast. Where Christ stood is where you will stand.”.……….See More
