Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria has spoken about Nigeria’s name and affirmed the unity of its people.
In a video recently shared on YouTube by Channels TV, President Bola Tinubu said Nigeria was named by the British but despite the origins of the name, Nigerians are united as one family.
Tinubu reminded citizens that their passports bear the name “Nigeria,” reaffirming their national identity. He stressed the importance of unity and urged Nigerians to protect their diversity and love one another as brothers and sisters. He also said bringing back the old national anthem which begins with “Nigeria we hail thee” was necessary.
