According to Uju Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, hotels are required to prominently display a sign from the Ministry of Women Affairs that forbids the housing of underage females beginning on June 20th. She warned that the consequences for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of a breach of this new duty would be far worse than those in Niger state.
She made it clear that the Bola Tinubu government will not stoop to the level of exploitation and abuse that children endure. In addition, she urged Proprietors to provide their children with positive guidance and cautioned against bullying girls in school.
She said in a report by Punch, ”Nigeria must be better. From 20th June, we have directed Hotels to put a sign outside from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. No lodging of underage girls. What happened in Niger State will be an understatement of what will happen in the FCT and I mean it. No more lodging of underage girls and no bullying of girls.”.…….See More
