According to the report from the Sun, the chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Nwanyanwu discussed the interpretation of a court ruling, asserting that if the Court of Appeal intended for the situation to revert to its previous state, it would have explicitly stated so.
He emphasized that the court is not hesitant to issue direct orders when necessary.
In this particular case, he argued that the court’s reference to “status quo” implied that the defected lawmakers in Rivers State had already lost their sheets before the legal proceedings began.
Dan Nwanyanwu said this while reacting to the recent court of Appeal ruling on the defected lawmakers in Rivers State.
He said, “That is what I’m saying, they make interpretation that would suit them, if the court of Appeal had the intendment to ask them to go back, they would have said so, the court is never afraid to give orders. Status quo as referred to by the court was that these people have lost their seats. What was the position before they went to court? The position was that they lost their seats.”….Seē _ Morē
