In a recent interview with Arise Television, Aminu Babba Danagundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of the Kano Emirate, made claims regarding the reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano. According to Danagundi, Sanusi’s return to the throne was financially motivated.
“Lamido is back because he has paid for it. He has given the governor and Kwankwaso money. The present Emir of Kano State funded their campaign and of course I have the evidence. He paid money and that is why he was appointed back as the Emir of the State,” Danagundi stated unequivocally during the interview.
Danagundi emphasized that his claim was not merely speculative. “It is not an allegation. Even Lamido himself said it,” he added, suggesting that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi had openly admitted to the financial transactions involved in his reinstatement.
Danagundi also highlighted a historical anomaly in Sanusi’s appointment. “His grandfather was an Emir, but the issue is that in the history of Kano, I have never seen where an Emir was appointed without his father being an Emir,” he remarked….Seē _ Morē
