Former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has weighed in on the recent remarks made by Zainab Bayero, daughter of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, regarding financial assistance she received from Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf.
Zainab had publicly expressed that the money provided to her family was insufficient to meet their needs, particularly for securing a home in Lagos.
Sani, known for his candid social media commentary, took to his verified Twitter account to share his perspective on the situation. He suggested that Zainab’s reaction is indicative of a broader trend among women, implying that dissatisfaction with financial assistance is becoming increasingly common.
“Bayero’s daughter reportedly said money given to her is not enough. But actually, most women act like her these days,” Sani tweeted, offering his view that Zainab’s complaint might be part of a larger pattern of behavior rather than an isolated incident.
Zainab Bayero had earlier reached out to Governor Yusuf, as well as other notable figures, including President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, seeking additional support. She revealed that her family has been struggling since the death of her father nearly a decade ago, with financial hardships forcing them to move from one temporary residence to another. Zainab’s appeal for a home in Lagos, as opposed to Kano, emphasizes her desire to relocate and rebuild her life in a new environment.
