Philip Shaibu has spoken about the identity of the gunmen who attacked his convoy and killed a policeman in Benin.
Speaking in a video shared by Arise TV, Shaibu said the attackers were part of a vigilante group led by someone named Mutari. According to Shaibu, these individuals were responsible for the shooting and the death of the police officer. He denied any involvement in organizing the attack, stating that he would never orchestrate an incident that would put his own life in danger.
In Shaibu’s words: “As we just drove into airport road, the next thing was sporadic shooting by the men of the vigilante led by one Mutari. As Deputy Governor I know all of them, they were the ones who shot and killed the policeman. Crusoe is making statements that Obaseki will not help him by the time we are in court and he should stop. He can not be alleging what he didn’t know, I did not mobilize anybody to come and shoot. How can I be shooting myself, why will I organize people to shoot me?”….Seē _ Morē
