In an interview with The Sun Nigeria, distinguished elder Sylvanus Nwaji discussed his personal relationship with Governor Dr. Alex Otti in an open and honest manner. Despite their history of association, prominent political figure Nwaji explained why he was severing ties with the governor.
Before anything else, Chief Nwaji made it clear that he appreciated Governor Otti’s work. “Regarding the governor, Dr. Alex Otti, I am not a member of his party, but I am an elder statesman and a stakeholder,” Nwaji said. To be fair, I can say that he has made efforts—and is making efforts—to elevate the state.
Noting their history together, Nwaji said, “He is my friend. In 2015, I served as his campaign manager in the Ukwa West Council Area. Though they were friends and Nwaji had been involved with Otti’s campaign before, he just disclosed a major reason for their present estrangement. According to Nwaji, “he does not heed counsel,” which is why she decided to keep her distance from him. “He thinks that rumours are true.”
Nwaji stressed that leaders should be receptive to suggestions and criticisms, and that collaborative governance is crucial. What he meant was that, in his opinion, no man can be successful in government on his own. To help his coworkers succeed, it is important to praise them even when they mess up.
One of the most important things a leader can do, according to Chief Sylvanus Nwaji’s remarks, is to make sure his team members feel accepted and valued. His viewpoint sheds light on the complexities of leadership and the difficulties encountered by individuals in authoritative roles.……..See More
