Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals, has shared how Bola Tinubu reacted to the death of Late Chief MKO Abiola.
In a video shared by TVC, Alake recounted how Tinubu, who was then in the United States, called him to confirm the tragic news of Abiola’s passing. He said when confirmed it, Tinubu broke down and started crying over the phone.
Alake said he then told Tinubu that he needed to return to Nigeria because he was a key leader in the fight for democracy, and that is what Abiola would have wanted. He said Tinubu eventually heeded this advice and returned to Nigeria to continue his leadership role
In Alake’s words: “Tinubu called me to confirm MKO’s death and when I confirmed it to him, he broke down and started crying on phone. And I told him that he had to come back home because he was a leader, a leading light of the struggle for democracy. And I said that is what MKO would have wished. Eventually he came back”..……See More
