Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has stated that the government had asked people not to protest because they knew that troublemakers would use the situation to create chaos, damage and loot properties.
In a video shared by Channels TV, Wike pointed out the tragic events in Kaduna where lives were lost and Kano, where properties were damaged and looted during the recent protests
Wike expressed concern about what people would have said if such violence occurred in the FCT where many international businesses and residents are located. He said that Nigeria belongs to everyone and that it is important to follow the law to maintain order and prevent destruction.
In Wike’s words: “See what happened in Kano, if such a thing happens in FCT what do you think people will say? Here we have international communities carrying out their businesses residing in FCT. This country belongs to all of us and we must work according to the rule of law”….Seē _ Morē
