Aishatu Ismail who was minister of Women Affairs and Youth Development under former President Olusegun Obasanjo has shared her views on the leadership of Nigeria’s past presidents, especially Muhammadu Buhari
In a recent report by The Sun, Ismail said each president made mistakes, including Obasanjo, her former boss, and Goodluck Jonathan. She, however, recalled an interview Buhari allegedly had with the BBC where he was asked how he would tackle Boko Haram terrorists group and he replied by saying “what is Boko Haram”. She said Buhari’ response raised expectations that he would handle the issue effectively but he failed to meet these expectations
Ismail also said that she observed that before Buhari took office, many Nigerian could at least afford to eat food but by the time he left, the situation had worsened.
