Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, has weighed in on the federal government’s recent donation of trucks of rice to the 36 states across Nigeria.
According to Channels Television, the Federal Government has donated 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria as part of measures to address the country’s food crisis.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that each truck carries about 1,200 25-kg bags of rice, which are expected to be distributed to vulnerable Nigerians by the state governments.
This move is seen as a first step by the government to ameliorate the hardship experienced by Nigerians due to the shortage of food supplies and rising food prices.
The federal government assured that it will continue to support the state governors and local governments to ensure that the hardship experienced by most Nigerians is significantly reduced.
Shehu Sani, commenting on this development on his X handle, suggested ways in which the trailer rice should be distributed.
He said, “Maybe the best way to distribute the trailer of rice donated to the states is to give it to the men and women of God to equitably share to the masses.”….Seē _ Morē
