The Sarkin Dawaki Babba of Kano Emirate, Aminu Danagundi has alleged that the former Kano State governor, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso once demanded that First Bank dismiss Emir Sanusi and that he threatened to withdraw all Kano state funds if they refused.
He stated that this incident exemplifies Sanusi’s pattern of challenging leaders publicly through the media rather than through private advisories. He identified how Sanusi’s confrontational approach approach also extended to the former President Goodluck Jonathan and which led to his dismissal as the Central Bank Governor.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”Kwankwaso wrote a letter to First Bank that they must dismiss Sanusi. Otherwise, he would withdraw all Kano state funds from the bank but the bank refused to dismiss him. So this is what Sanusi has been doing to Leaders, he challenges them in the media.
He even did it to former President Jonathan and that’s one of the reasons why they sacked him as CBN governor. If you want to advise a leader and you have access to the leader, you can go and advise him. I’m sure he will listen to you but you don’t have to start talking to the press and saying that the leader doesn’t know what he’s doing. That is what he did to Ganduje.”..…….See More
