Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has made it clear that he values teamwork among people and political parties only if their goal is to make Nigeria a better place.
He does not want to join forces with others just to win elections or control the government.
“I am not desperate to become president,” Obi stated, “but I am desperate to see Nigeria function effectively, especially for the benefit of the less privileged, as our country holds immense potential.”
According to Punch newspaper, Obi talked about a possible merger with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He said, “I’m not interested in joining with others only to win elections or to control the government. I want to be a part of building a better Nigeria for everyone.”
Obi thanked Atiku Abubakar for saying he would support a president from the South-East. But he also said that his main focus is not his own success or playing political games.
Instead, he wants to see Nigeria do well and help the poor people in the country because he knows Nigeria can do great things.
