The Director and Proprietor of Dar Ibn Taimiyyah Islamic Home School, Isa Okonkwo has alleged that his local parish had issued a directive for his capture whether dead or alive following his conversion to Islam.
He stated that for three years he was unable to traverse the streets of his hometown during daylight hours due to fears of being attacked. He noted that his conversion at such a young age was unprecedented in his village, compounding the community’s reaction and intensifying his plight.
He said in an interview with Punch, ”For three years, I could not move freely in the street in my hometown during the day, for fear of attacks. I heard that the Parish sent for me to be captured dead or alive after I joined Islam. If it were today, it would sound ridiculous, but as a small child, it meant so much to me.
