Veteran Nigerian musician Charly Boy, also known as Charles Oputa, believes there is a new sense of awareness among the youth, who will no longer put up with or show respect to ineffective or problematic elders.
In response to comments made by Wole Soyinka about being insulted by young people for his political views, Charly Boy accused older generations of Nigerians of mismanaging the country and depriving the youth of a better future. He stated that these elders have taken a lot from Nigeria but have only given back hopelessness, frustration and poverty in return.
He wrote this in a post on his verified Twitter page on Saturday.

Charly Boy directly addressed these elders, saying their time is up and that the public will no longer remain silent if they continue to be hypocritical and self-serving.
