Eric Nwibani, the Secretary of the State APC Caretaker Committee, has responded to comments made by former Governor Rotimi Amaechi regarding those who left him to support Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. Amaechi had suggested that these individuals switched sides because they couldn’t endure hunger.
However, in a recent report by Punch, Nwibani strongly refuted this claim. He highlighted that many of those now working with Wike, such as Chief Victor Giadom, Ojukaye Flag Amachree, and Sampson Ngerigbari, are not in need and are financially stable. He also said that Wike, despite being a PDP member, is a dedicated Rivers State son and is performing well as FCT minister under President Tinubu’s administration.
Nwibani criticized Amaechi’s leadership, stating that his ineffective leadership led to the APC losing three consecutive elections in Rivers State. He argued that it is unreasonable for Amaechi to expect continued loyalty after such failures
In Nwibani’s words: “Amaechi cannot say those working with Wike are hungry. I don’t know where he worked before joining politics. We know he made money from government and politics”.………See More
