Mr. Femi Adesina, who happens to be the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years, during his recent interview with The Nigerian Tribune, spoke on Buhari’s government, his relationship with him, among other issues.
During the interview, Femi Adesina was told that when Muhammadu Buhari asked him to work for him as his media adviser, he (Adesina) knew that the pay was one-third of what he earned at The Sun, and he also knew that it was usually a frustrating job, yet he accepted to work for Buhari. Responding to this, Adesina said, “I knew the pay in public service was nothing to write home about, but I didn’t know it was that bad till I got the letter spelling out the details.”
He said it did not bother him for several reasons, because he is a man of a modest lifestyle. He had a house already, his son was a pilot, a specialist in Boeing 737, and his daughter was in her third year in the university.
Adesina alleged that his wife was a professional with a good job, and due to all the things he mentioned, there was no cause for worry. And that was why he took on the assignment, despite the paltry pay….Seē _ Morē
