Chief Peter Ameh, former Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and Publicity Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), has criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for his recent comments about Senator Ireti Kingibe.
Recall that during a recent project inauguration in the FCT, Wike bragged that Senator Kingibe would not be re-elected to the National Assembly in 2027.
However, according to a report by Daily Post on July 4, 2024, Peter Ameh reminded Wike that Abuja is different from Rivers State where Wike was previously a two-term governor.
Ameh noted that former FCT leaders have succeeded without disrespecting elected officials. He described the FCT is a metropolitan area where people vote based on performance.
Ameh also noted that despite being a governor and minister, Wike lost support in his own local government and Rivers State before allegedly manipulating election results.
He said, “Wike forgets that others came before him and performed excellently without using derogatory language against elected representatives. FCT is a cosmopolitan and metropolitan center, and its people vote based on performance.
“Wike was a governor for eight years and a minister from Rivers State, but he lost his own local government and Rivers State before he padded the result. What makes him think he will win FCT? People are intelligent and cannot be intimidated the way he tries to intimidate the senator.”..…….See More
