Jos Attack: “He Hid Me And Fed Me’ -Muslim Survivor Shares How A Christian Man Saved His Life

A survivor of the recent killings in Plateau State has shared a story of humanity after a Christian man saved his life during the attack.

According to a report by Daily Trust on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the survivor, Sa’idu Murtala, said the incident occurred in Anguwan Rukuba in Jos North when gunmen invaded the area and opened fire on residents.

The attack left at least 28 people dead, according to Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

Murtala explained that he was at his usual business spot selling garden eggs when the shooting began. Panic spread quickly as people ran for safety.

He said in the middle of the chaos, a Christian man took a bold step by opening his home to him.

The man reportedly hid Murtala in his house and ensured he was safe throughout the night. He also asked his wife to give him food and helped calm his fears.

Murtala said the man was fully aware of his religion but still protected him without hesitation.

He described the experience as a powerful lesson, saying not everyone should be judged by religion or tribe.

According to him, if more people acted with such kindness, the world would be more peaceful.

He added that he has no means to repay the man but is confident that God will reward him.

Meanwhile, tension remains in the area as one of Murtala’s friends is still unaccounted for.

The Plateau State Government has imposed a curfew, while security agencies continue efforts to restore order and track down the attackers……See More
