Henry Mbachu, a respected member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, emphasized that involvement with any listed cult organization now carries a severe penalty of 21 years’ imprisonment. This legislation, formally enacted on June 11th by Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, reflects the government’s staunch stance against cult-related activities.
In an interview with Arise TV, Mbachu underscored that the Anambra government strongly condemns all forms of cult-related activities. He reiterated that individuals found guilty of any association, direct or indirect, with such activities will face imprisonment without the possibility of bail.
According to him, “What we have done as a legislative measure was to immediately pass the anti-cultism law. Anybody found guilty of being associated with any listed cult organization will face 21 years of imprisonment. Anybody associating, facilitating, or hiding any cult member or activity attracts its own penalty: jail time without the option of finding it, and the governor of Anambra State, Governor Soludo, has signed it into law.”..……..See More
