Former federation secretary Babachir Lawal has urged organized labour to accept that they represent a small percentage of Nigerians and shouldn’t be entitled to all of the country’s wealth. Recall that Organised Labour had flatly refused any idea for a minimum income of ₦62,000 or ₦100,000 for Nigerian workers. The Assistant General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Chris Onyeka, referred to the government’s offer as a “starvation wage” in an interview with Channels Television, according to a Punch report.
