A survivor of the Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, has recounted the terrifying ordeal he endured during the assault, describing how he was injured and the chaos that unfolded during the attack.

Speaking from a hospital bed in Jos, the man explained that he had gone out to get breakfast for his children, unaware that terrorists were carrying out an attack in the area. His testimony highlights the sudden and indiscriminate nature of the violence that struck residents in their everyday routines.
In his words, “I went to get breakfast for my children. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that there was an attack going on. Immediately I knew and I was crossing back to enter ‘keke’ back to my quarters, suddenly I had a gunshot and it hit my leg. It was a rapid gunshot,” he said.
According to the survivor, the attack unfolded so quickly that he had no time to react. He had stepped out briefly for a routine errand when the chaos erupted around him. He explained that he was attempting to return home when he was struck by a gunshot, which left him severely injured.
The survivor’s account paints a grim picture of the insecurity in Angwan Rukuba, where residents live under the constant threat of sudden attacks. His testimony underscores the human cost of terrorism, illustrating the vulnerability of ordinary citizens engaged in routine daily activities.
