According to a report by the Times of Israel on Wednesday 8 April, 2026, United States Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, has publicly praised Israel’s role in the ongoing conflict with Iran, suggesting other U.S. allies could learn from its approach.
Speaking at a press briefing, Hegseth singled out Israel as a standout partner, describing its conduct on the battlefield in notably strong terms. He pointed to what he sees as a mix of capability and willingness to act – qualities he implied have not been equally demonstrated by others.
