Shehu Sani Mocks Musa Kwankwaso After Nafiu Bala Failed To Honour A Schedule Visit To His Residence

Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has mocked former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, following the failure of Nafiu Bala to honour a scheduled visit to his residence.

Sani took to his X handle to react after Kwankwaso reportedly expressed disappointment that Bala did not show up at his country home in Kano for a planned discussion.

In a sarcastic remark, Sani wrote: “So, my friend, Comrade and Brother Senator Kwankwaso waited in the parlour and peeping through the window, hoping to hear the horn of the car of Nafiu Bala at his gate? Wow.”

The development comes amid the ongoing leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where Bala has emerged as a self-acclaimed factional chairman.

Bala is currently challenging the leadership of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, who were recently announced as the party’s national chairman and secretary respectively. He has reportedly approached the court and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), seeking recognition as the authentic chairman of the party.

The controversy has been further complicated by claims that Bala had earlier submitted a resignation letter before the emergence of the new leadership. However, he has continued to assert his position, deepening divisions within the party.

There are also allegations from some quarters that Bala’s actions may be politically motivated, with suggestions that elements within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are backing moves to destabilise the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections. These claims, however, remain unverified.

Kwankwaso’s reported attempt to engage Bala is seen by observers as part of efforts to resolve the internal dispute within the party, but the failure of the meeting to hold has further highlighted the deepening crisis.
