According to a report by The Times of Israel, In a chilling escalation of the ongoing conflict in the Persian Gulf, Iran’s First Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref, has issued a direct and foreboding warning to the White House regarding the potential deployment of American ground forces to Kharg Island.
The statement, published Monday, March 30, 2026, comes as reports from the Pentagon suggest that U.S. Special Operations forces and thousands of Marines are amassing in the region for a possible landing on the island Iran’s crown jewel that handles nearly 90% of its oil exports.
Aref’s message was delivered with a striking lack of diplomatic nuance, framing any attempted U.S. occupation of Iranian territory not as a tactical maneuver, but as a fatal trap.
He suggested that while President Trump has the authority to launch an invasion, he would lose the power to extract his troops once the fighting began.
“Trump can decide to send troops to Kharg but bringing them back is no longer his decision because no one returns home from hell,” Aref declared.
The Vice President’s rhetoric serves a dual purpose: a deterrent to U.S. military planners and a rallying cry for the Iranian domestic front.
