Emmanuel Ogebe, a US-based Nigerian lawyer, has stated that there was a time when the United States of America set up a drone base in Niger Republic to monitor terrorist activities in Nigeria
In an interview with Channels Television, Ogebe stated that the United States under President Donald Trump has deployed both soldiers and drones directly to Nigeria. He said this was something Barack Obama did not want to do when he was president of USA because he did not trust the Nigerian military
Ogebe added that Nigeria should consider allowing USA forces greater freedom to operate so they can effectively engage and eliminate terrorists
