All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has raised alarm over the escalating insecurity in northern Nigeria, describing the activities of bandits as a direct threat to the nation’s unity and survival.

Igbokwe made the remarks in a Facebook post on Sunday, where he called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive and urgent action in addressing the worsening security situation across the region. His comments come amid renewed concerns over persistent attacks, killings, and kidnappings linked to armed groups operating in parts of the North.

In the post, the APC chieftain warned that the actions of bandits should not be treated lightly, stressing that they amount to a full-scale assault on Nigeria’s sovereignty. “Let me drop this here: I want PBAT to know that what the bandits are doing in the North is an open declaration of war on the corporate existence of Nigeria as a political entity. PBAT please see this as war and do the needful. Defend Nigeria!!!” he wrote.
