He said a resolution to ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington remains “probable,” provided that U.S. representatives approach discussions with what he described as a pragmatic, domestically focused policy stance.
Speaking on the sidelines of diplomatic engagements in Islamabad, Aref said constructive outcomes could emerge if both sides engage in talks aimed at securing balanced advantages.
“If we negotiate in Islamabad with representatives of ‘America First,’ an agreement beneficial to both sides and the world is probable,” he stated, referring to ongoing diplomatic discussions hosted in Pakistan.

The comments come as Iranian negotiators continue talks in Islamabad with Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The meetings are part of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and exploring possible pathways toward de-escalation.
Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasised that any long-term agreement with the United States must include security guarantees and respect for Iran’s strategic interests……See More
