In a recent video on Fox, Jesse Watters has raised fresh concerns over escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, warning that Tehran may be attempting to prolong the standoff rather than confront Washington directly.
Speaking on Fox News, Watters argued that Iran lacks the military strength to match the United States and is instead relying on endurance tactics. He said, “Iran can’t outgun us so they are trying to outlast us,” suggesting that the strategy is aimed at wearing down American resolve over time.
Watters further noted that patience on both sides appears to be diminishing as the situation drags on. “America’s patience is running thin and so is Iran’s grace period,” he stated, indicating that the window for diplomatic or restrained engagement may be narrowing.
He also pointed to developments in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route, where he said maritime activity has significantly declined. According to Watters, Iran had pledged to keep the passage open, but the reality on the ground appears different. “They promised to open up the Strait of Hormuz and all we are getting is a trickle,” he said.
Providing further detail, Watters claimed that only a limited number of vessels had passed through the waterway in recent days. “In 48 hours, only ten ships have crossed, only two oil tankers,” he added, contrasting the figures with pre-conflict levels when hundreds of ships reportedly transited daily.
Watters also expressed concern over reports that Iran may attempt to impose additional controls on maritime traffic. “Now they want to set up a tollbooth,” he said, warning that such a move could escalate tensions and disrupt global oil supply chains.
Referencing remarks by Donald Trump, Watters noted a shift in tone regarding the situation, adding that any attempt to enforce such measures would likely face strong opposition…….See More
