According to a report by Leadership, on Friday April 10, 2026, veteran Nigerian singer 9ice, popularly known as 9ice, has brought public debate after revealing that he has practised Ifa spirituality for many years.
He made the disclosure during a recent public event, his statement quickly spread across social media and entertainment platforms, according to the singer, he has been a practitioner of Ifa for about 18 years.
He stated that he kept his spiritual practice private for a long time, he explained that he was concerned about public reaction and possible discrimination from fans and colleagues, he noted that secrecy helped him maintain his music career without distraction.
”I am a Babalawo, I have practice it for over 18 years. But I chose to hide my religion because I believed people would start avoiding me if they found out,” 9ice explained
