In a recent interview shared by TVC News, Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, addressed the lingering leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stressing the need for lawful resolution of internal disputes.
Abejide expressed concern over the growing tension in the party, noting that the crisis has continued to create uncertainty about its stability and future. He maintained that rather than engaging in protests or public confrontations, aggrieved members should adopt a more appropriate legal approach.
“No reconciliation whatsoever; if you want this matter to be resolved, you should go to court, not INEC,” he said.
According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has acted within the confines of the law and should not be pressured to interpret court rulings or interfere in internal party matters. He emphasized that only the judiciary has the constitutional authority to make binding pronouncements on such disputes.
The lawmaker further noted that time is of the essence, warning that prolonged disagreements could weaken the party’s position as a credible opposition platform in Nigeria’s political landscape. He urged all factions to respect due process and seek judicial clarification where necessary.
