I’ve Made My Own Contribution; I’m 60 Years Old, Yet I’m Here Protesting With You -Rotimi Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation and member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has called on Nigerians to rise and demand accountability from leaders, citing worsening economic conditions and unfulfilled promises.

Speaking in a video shared on Symfoni, Amaechi criticized the government’s priorities, arguing that critical issues such as hunger have not been adequately addressed. He pointed to the proposed coastal road project to the south-south as an example, claiming that despite assurances, the project has yet to materialize while public funds have already been spent.

He urged citizens not to remain passive in the face of hardship, stressing that meaningful change requires active participation and collective action. According to him, Nigerians must take responsibility for shaping the country’s future rather than waiting for political leaders to act.

According to him, “Instead of addressing hunger, they said they would give us a road—a coastal road to the South-South. Up till now, they have not given us the road. The money is gone. Nigerians must get up. They must do what? They must do what? Okay. I have made my own contribution. I’m 60 years old, right? I’m here protesting with you.”…….See More
